ABSTRACT: The ITS lab is developing custom software for transportation data collection using Palm handheld computers. Our ITS-GPS application runs on a Palm with an attached Magellan GPS receiver. It continuously records the user's position and speed along with other user-specified information associated with each position in the log. It allows exporting the recorded data to a desktop PC in several common file formats.ITS-Count is another Palm application which assists with counting problems of several types, usually intersection counts or manual vehicle counts. It records cumulative counts, displays them graphically, and allows exporting them to a PC in common file formats. Both programs are available free of charge. The source code is available upon request
