ITS Lab Students Participate in ITS Oregon Lunch Meeting  February 2009
On February 10, 2009, ITS Lab students participated in the ITS Oregon lunch meeting which was held at CH2M HILL, Portland offices. Celena Stone and Bill Love presented CH2M HILL's work on the Mercer Street Corridor in Seattle, Washington. This six- block, one-way couplet connecting I-5 to the Seattle Space Needle is also a shared facility with Streetcar and Metro Transit lines. The presentation covered design challenges of the existing conditions, calibration of the VISSIM model microsimulation, transition of the one-way couplet to a two-way system, ITS design elements, signal design challenges, and lessons learned.
