  Dr. Thamizh Arasan Visits ITS Lab • March 2009 On Thursday, March 19, Dr. Thamizh Arasan, Professor of Department of Civil Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madraas, India visited the ITS Lab and gave an interesting presentation about "Modeling Transportation and Traffic in India". The traffic on Indian roads is highly heterogeneous and the vehicles move on the roads without any lane or queue discipline. An appropriate methodology for modeling heterogeneous traffic flow has recently been developed at Indian Institute of Technology Madraas. Dr. Arasan was warmly welcomed by faculty and students. He was also given a "Portland Bridges" book as a gift from the ITS Lab. | ||||
